New description:

 MacPort build 1.4, running on Mac Pro PowerPC.
 After port install gthumb, everything seems fine.

 Upon starting gthumb, the pop up shows the following error message: The
 application has crashed. The console gives further details as:

 such file or directory
 See the manual page for dbus-uuidgen to correct this issue.

Comment:

 Is this still occurring?  dbus and gthumb have seen numerous updates since
 this ticket.
