 rpm-devel is currently tied to alpha SNAPSHOT releases of rpm-5.2 which
 are
 likely useless unless you are actively developing rpm.

 Try "port rpm51" which is tied to the latest production rpm-5.1.6 release.

 Truly, there's nothing in rpm-5.2 that is not already in rpm-5.1.6 except
 development pain.
