 I suppose it depends on how hard it is to patch texlive_base to work with
 icu.[[BR]]
 I suspect it is not trivial (although I am not an expert).

 As I understand it, texlive 2008 was recently released.[[BR]]
 Perhaps if it fixes the problem, we should focus on the upgrade instead.
