 Let me turn it around and hypothetically ask what is the benefit of the
 ticket reporter being on the Cc list?

 So to answer your question, I would argue that it violates the spirit of
 the Apple human interface guidelines by having a user interface element
 (the "CCMe!" button in this case) appear when it does not do anything
 useful. Now the Cc list is cluttered up with an unnecessary entry and thus
 that makes things less clear. Also, I know I'm not the only ticket editor
 that removes the reporter from the Cc list. Thus it waste's the time of
 the editor as well as the reporter to allow it.
