New description:

 On a 10.4.11 G5 with MacPort 1.6.0, doing a "port install gv" appears to
 work fine, but it creates a file

 {{{
    /opt/local/bin/gv
 }}}

 that is not an executable.  In fact, it seems to be a copy of
 /opt/local/lib/gv/GV:
