 The defect #18801 was wrongly closed.  When I bought Leopard, it included
 XCode 3.0, but the port xtiff requires at least XCode 3.1.  Unfortunately,
 "Software Update" won't update XCode.  The only satisfactory solution is
 to reverse this port to an earlier version compatible with ALL versions of
 Leopard.  Not only tiff cannot be installed but also all the ports that
 depend on tiff.
