 As I see the it, however, the solution to the problem reported in this
 ticket is:
   * Make a small change to the openvrml build process.
   * Override the default linking mechanism when building boost.
 We do not seem to have enough information on the ramifications of changing
 the link mechanism.[[BR]]
 At least to me, this makes a small change to openvrml the better option.
