Comment:

 Ignoring the homedir-based install stuff, setting up a system
 distutils.cfg could have value for software that makes assumptions (eg,
 prefix always contains lib/pythonXY); maybe something like
 {{{
 [install]
 install_lib = ${frameworks_dir}/Python.framework/Versions/${python.branch}
 install_scripts =
 ${frameworks_dir}/Python.framework/Versions/${python.branch}/bin/python${python.branch}
 }}}
 (replacing python.branch for each pythonXY port).
