 Fiddled around a bit with launchctl, such as launchctl -F load
 /Library/LaunchAgents/org.freedesktop.dbus-session.plist. Not everything
 is really clear to me, anayway, after shutdown and restart of the iMac the
 dbus daemon is active and the Dynamic session lookup ... errors are gone.
 Gnucash 2.2.9_1 is running :-)

 I was on the verge of ditching GnuCash in favor of some alternative like
 [http://wiki.github.com/jwiegley/ledger Ledger] and now can stick to GC.
