Comment:

 The Portfile that you submitted is a step in the right direction but does
 not produce correct output for at least one arch (the one
 the building machine isn't) because podofo contains conditional code based
 on whether the machine is big endian or not.  So on my
 machine (ppc), a universal binary is built for ppc, i386 but the code is
 configured big endian in both cases.  So needs to have
 separate configurations for each arch.  Have marked the port as
 universal_variant no for now (in r50118) and will work on this
 further.  Let me know if you have any further input on the subject.
