Comment:

 I see this is a +quartz build.  Since upgrading to gtk2 2.16.1, I've been
 seeing similar problems with the quartz build.  X11 build
 seems to be ok.  2.6.6 was supposed to fix build problems with gtk 2.16
 but perhaps they missed something.

 Can you see if reverting to the previous version of gtk2 resolves the
 problem?  What version OS X and platform are you using?
