 Typing in the filename edit box in the Open file dialog has no effect (and
 I made sure that the cursor is positioned on the edit box in case it is
 'focus follows mouse').

 I have observed the same problem in the edit boxes of the xfig port so
 this could as well actually be a bug in one of X11's widget libraries
 these two applications are linked against.

 I am running an up-to-date MacPorts 1.7.1 on Mac OS 10.4.11.
