 in bash-completion 1.0 they extracted ssh (and sftp, scp,...) completion
 to an extra file. workaround is to unpack the bash-completion-1.0.tar.gz
 file and copy the file to the bash-completion.d directory:

 sudo cp contrib/ssh /opt/local/etc/bash_completion.d/

 since there are many contrib completions the bash-completion portfile
 should probably include ssh and some others by default (to keep
 functionality of previous bash-completion installs). The other contrib/
 completions could be optionally installed using variants i think.
