 I'm sorry, made a mistake.  I was looking at the wrong machine version of
 xcode.  I did a fresh install of leopard 10.5  and xcode on a networked
 machine, and thought the xcode automatically updated to 3.2 with software
 updater. I guess not.

 Sorry again for the troubles and thanks for making me realize.
