 After the closure of my last thread and doing some work on my own.
 Specifically I took the long list of "failed to build" from the last
 output of trying to get GIMP up and running. I then took each of the parts
 piecemeal and installed most of them. The final outcome is the following :

 {{{
 sudo port install gimp
 --->  Computing dependencies for gimp
 --->  Activating py25-nose @0.10.4_0
 Error: The following dependencies failed to build: gimp-app gimp2 py25-gtk
 py25-cairo py25-numpy py25-nose py25-gobject gimp-jp2 gimp-lqr-plugin
 gutenprint icns-gimp ufraw xsane
 Error: Status 1 encountered during processing.
 }}}

 It appears to me that the big bugaboo is the issue with python. I have
 python 2.6.4 installed and when I install 2.5, it of course whats to take
 over the python activation.

 All I want to do is get GIMP up and running. What do I need to do now with
 this conflict?
 Thanks
