 It happens with a number of things.

 For example:

 install Mplayer:

 sudo port -v install Mplayer +binary_codecs +caca +dts +dv +dvdread +faac
 +fontconfig +freetype +gif +real +sdl +theora +twolame +xvid

 gives:

 Warning: the following items did not execute (for mp4v2):
 org.macports.activate org.macports.build org.macports.destroot
 org.macports.install

 Error: The following dependencies failed to build: faac mp4v2 lame libcaca
 libdts libdca libmad libtheora lzo2 twolame libsndfile flac x264

 Error: Status 1 encountered during processing.

 I'm going to run sudo port -v install Mplayer +binary_codecs +caca +dts
 +dv +dvdread +faac +fontconfig +freetype +gif +real +sdl +theora +twolame
 +xvid in Terminal, and will see if I can get the log of what happens...
