Comment:

 If this port used to work, then it sounds like a problem is that the port
 does not always install the same software -- it installs whatever's at the
 head of the git repository. The port should instead assure that always the
 same version of software is used, for example by using the git.branch
 keyword.

 But this brings up a point: why is the port using git and not the tarball
 available on the project's web site?
