 If you become maintainer that would be very helpful. However, you still
 will not be able to commit the changes and the long delays will continue.
 One thing that would be helpful is to post
 [http://guide.macports.org/#development.patches unified diffs] of the
 portfiles instead. In order to commit changes, you would need to apply for
 [http://guide.macports.org/chunked/project.membership.html macports
 membership].
