 I am able to reproduce the issue with your recipe. I believe it's only an
 annoyance; I believe that if #22848 were resolved, erlang would have been
 correctly installed with its +darwin_10 variant. In debug mode, I see this
 either way:

 {{{
 DEBUG: Executing variant darwin_10 provides darwin_10
 }}}

 So I think it's just a bug in the mechanism used to determine if you've
 selected different variants: you haven't, but MacPorts incorrectly
 believes you have.
