Comment:

 We have so many open tickets, so I'd rather commit myself than wait for
 other people to do it. For straight forward updates and especially new
 ports it's generally safe to commit the supplied patch.
 And don't forget to close the ticket afterwards :)

 Also when you get commit rights, someone has decided that your port
 writing skills are sufficient.
