 You do not need to reply twice, all people in the cc, such as snc, will
 get your replies.

 Based on the output of the 'port installed' command above, I think the
 problem is that none of your ports are active, even though they are
 installed. You do not seem to be using 'sudo' before port and AFAIK, you
 must do that. That would explain why ports are getting reinstalled and
 failing.

 Try the following:
 {{{
 sudo port activate mercurial
 }}}

 You will still have to activate all of the dependencies for it to work.
