Comment:

 To make it short:

  * don't use dbus-launch. It's deprecated as already pointed out several
 times in this thread.
  * Several people, including me, have reported that gnucash (and every
 other dbus program) works fine with the launchd-based dbus on Tiger as
 well as on Leopard, on intel as well as on powerpc.
  * The failing qof assertion ([#comment:74]) seems to be an other problem.
 I'd suggest to open a new ticket for it.
