 Okay, there's your problem.  The system python is found before the
 MacPorts python.

 Can you change your path (probably defined in ~/.profile or ~/.bash_rc) so
 that MacPorts (/opt/local) comes before at least the System path for
 python (/Library/Frameworks/python…)?
