 Replying to [comment:3 gkelly@…]:
 > macfuse.2.patch doesn't work if prefix is "/usr/local".  After the
 build, it is untarred, and then there's a line in the destroot that
 deletes usr/local, so the subsequent commands fail to operate on the files
 that were just removed!
 It is not supported for ${prefix} to be /usr/local. Use some other prefix
 for MacPorts.
