Comment:

 It looks like the failing port is not ImageMagick but one of xorg-libXext
 xorg-libX11 xorg-libXt xorg-libsm xorg-libice.

 Which "pile of reports on ImageMagick Xorg dependencies" are you referring
 to?

 Could you please clean the port in question and try again with the debug
 option and attach the complete output as an attachment to this ticket?
 Replace "PORT" with whatever port was failing (not ImageMagick).

 sudo port -d install PORT 2>&1 | tee ~/Desktop/out.txt
 }}}

 Then attach out.txt from your desktop to this ticket.
