 I don't actually use gv and I hadn't heard of ggv so I have no input on
 this problem. I recommend you ask the developers of gv and ggv or the
 macports-users mailing list. If you discover something that needs to be
 changed in the gv or ggv ports to fix this problem, please mention it here
 so I can take care of it.

 Regarding the RANDR message, do you have the port xorg-libXrandr installed
 and activated?
