 Hello !

 For others who had the same problem. sudo port installed ... shows a
 libtool @1.5.26_0 (active)

 I used sudo port -v upgrade libtool ... to upgrade libtool to libtool
 @2.2.6a_0 (active) - the old is still there (but not active) so it should
 not be a problem.

 After sudo port clean --all gd2 and sudo port install base ... it works.
