Comment:

 I brought this up a few times in macports-dev (most recently today with a
 patch for a system_x11 variant which results in our use of ports for X11
 libs rather than $x11prefix).

 I'm closing this as 'invalid' since it's not really a bug but rather a
 policy that needs to be worked out on the list.
