 OK, makes sense. I thought the hang was because the server was down or I
 was somehow having problems connecting, so i kept trying.

 This issue is closed for me, but I was wondering if it might be more
 appropriate to have some error message saying 'the repository is no longer
 available. Please run: 'sudo port sync' to update.'
