 I just tried "port install a2ps", and am seeing:

 checking host system type... configure: error: cannot guess host type; you
 must specify one

 My 'port' is fully self-up-to-date.

 I'm on an intel OSX 10.5.5 powerbook pro, with xcode installed.

 uname -a
 Darwin h-164.office.mozilla.org 9.5.0 Darwin Kernel Version 9.5.0: Wed Sep
 3 11:29:43 PDT 2008; root:xnu-1228.7.58~1/RELEASE_I386 i386
