 Do you get the same error when unloading the systembus first? i.e.

 $ launchctl unload /Library/LaunchAgents/org.freedesktop.dbus-
 session.plist
 $ gnucash

 At a first glance this don't seem dbus related to me (although I must say
 that I've absolutely no knowledge about gnome internals)

 What does `dbus-monitor` say, with and without loading org.freedesktop
 .dbus-session.plist
