 OK, I took a second look and it does seem to be the problem you reported.
 Guess it's time to go to bed.  Sorry.

 At any rate, it needs to be fixed. Something similar to the two that blb
 mentions perhaps.  I see that upstream
 has made a change in gtk-doc to address the issue but I don't see how that
 helps if gtk-doc is not installed.

 As a separate topic you might want to add a variant to enable gtk-doc in
 case someone wants it.
