 It's the tool used by GTK+ and GNOME projects to automatically generate
 API documentation in HTML format from comments in the C code.  See
 [http://www.gtk.org/gtk-doc/]

 Its more of a maintainer function (to rebuild the HTML docs when the API
 changes) but it ''is'' available as a configure option.

 Just updated the projects homepage and description text in r45530.
