 python_select was created to switch between python versions itself, I
 don't want to add functionality beyond that because this really should be
 moved into base. Adding ipython would create dangling symlinks on systems
 which do not have py*-ipython installed.

 `port select` in trunk is able to do exactly the same as python_select, it
 is yet missing support for a more extendable interface, e.g. registering
 files in specific groups from ports instead of static maps.
