 The problem does not seem to be

 but one of the directories has the external property set and another
 project

 svn checkout svn://svn.eby-sarna.com/svnroot/ez_setup
 }}}
 seems to be failing.

 Perhaps it is the "svn" protocol which is proving problematic.
