 same problem here... apparently a conflict between:
 /System/Library/Frameworks/ApplicationServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/ImageIO.framework/Versions/A/Resources/libJPEG.dylib
 and
 /opt/local/lib/libjpeg.dylib
