 I think there are several different errors being reported in this ticket.
 The error I got on 10.4 was like the one Frank got on 10.5:

 _lt__PROGRAM__LTX_preloaded_symbols
 }}}

 The
 [http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Libtool2#old_libtool_files_may.2Fwill_cause_problems
 folks at Fedora tell us] this is due to us using libtool 2, and suggest a
 fix, which worked for me after a small modification, and I committed the
 fix in r53901.

 Does this now enable you to install the port? If not, do you still get the
 same error?
