 This bug is not limited to the Open dialog. It seems one cannot type
 text/numbers in any dialog box (for example line widths can be changed
 only with the arrows and not by typing the desired value). This  happens
 even if the cursor hovers over the field.

 The same problem also appears in xdvi in texlive_base so this might be
 related to some X11 widget library.

 I am running MacPorts 1.7.1 (updated today) on Mac OS X 10.4.11.
