Comment:

 The svn variant doesn't actually change anything, it just makes sure the
 necessary dependencies for git svn are installed. You should be able to
 use 'git svn' even if you don't specify the +svn variant. Note that it's
 'git svn' not 'git-svn' - svn is just a subcommand of the git tool.
