Ok, that's good to know. Then the port is working correctly.

I'm afraid it was not possible to have the mysql5 port install the
mysql5-server port for you. That is why I had the mysql5 port output this
message if you attempt to use the now-obsolete +server variant:

The +server variant is obsolete. Please install the mysql5-server port
instead.

While that recommendation does apply to all server ports, it wouldn't be a
bad idea to add a bit about upgrades to the how-to. It currently mentions
a bit about conf files when upgrading apache2, but doesn't mention
anything about upgrading mysql5, which should probably at least mention
the use of mysql_upgrade. Again, feel free to edit the wiki.
