 Actually I can confirm the error as reported. httperf builds fine, unless
 libevent is installed, and then it fails with the reported error. This is
 on Mac OS X 10.5.6 Intel with Xcode 3.1.2 and MacPorts 1.7.0. I will now
 look into the patch and apply it if possible.
