 ncid doesn't use configure so the universal variant is currently turned
 off.

 The Makefile includes a target mac-fat that could be used to build
 universal, but I recommend against this because it does not take into
 account the SDK and MACOSX_DEPLOYMENT_TARGET the user has selected in
 macports.conf. Using the muniversal portgroup may be a better way to go,
 if possible.
