 That posting is from 2002 and blames the problem on gcc 2.96. gnustep-back
 is not using a version of gcc that comes with MacPorts; it's using Apple's
 gcc 4.0 on Tiger and Leopard, and Apple's gcc 3.3 on Panther. So that
 message does not appear to be relevant to the problem.
