 I have an idea. Do you have a previous version of freetype installed with
 MacPorts? If so, which version? The new version of freetype may be trying
 to include files from the old active version and getting confused. Try
 deactivating it before installing the new one.

 sudo port deactivate freetype
 sudo port clean freetype
 sudo port install freetype
 }}}
