 I am using port 1.710 on Leopard 10.5.6 in interactive mode through
 Terminal.app (version 2.0.1 (240)). I have "Delete sends Ctrl-H" enabled
 (on) in the Terminal preferences for use with other applications. I see
 {{{^H}}} appearing when text should be disappearing.
