 One solution/workaround is to define the environment variables OMPI_CC,
 OMPI_CXX, etc. to the desired values (/opt/local/bin/gcc,
 /opt/local/bin/g++, etc.). This overrides the default settings. (This bug
 can be closed as far as I'm concerned if the maintainer is opposed to the
 original suggested enhancement.)
