 Ha, some progress here.

 +universal apr still active, I rebuild subversion with some new variants:

 => %ld are gone, there are real numbers now. And with my french locale.

 And the above log is correct, I have 1.6.6 in a local repo, based on the
 1.6.5 with just the checksums changed. I was expecting to build the 1.6.5
 but I may have wrongly specify it on the command line, I am still quite
 new to mac ports.

 I will work with that version of svn for now. If you want me to test other
 things, ping me.
