 In 10.6 you can programmatically manipulate the overrides.plist. Although
 there is no sanctioned command to do so.

 /var/db/launchd.db/com.apple.launchd/overrides.plist

 It would be possible to write an api command to insert / modify the
 relevant xml fragment. For example
