 It sounds like macports was installed on a new 10.6 install, but just to
 be sure was libpcap compiled on 10.6 (rather than 10.6 upgraded over 10.5
 with libpcap installed)?  I am not on 10.6 yet, but I thought libpcap was
 supposed to work on 10.6.
