 Thanks for responding and yes I have. I just typed my password and pressed
 enter. It responded with the invalid password response and said try again.
 I did again with the same result. I did it one more time and it failed
 again, but this time it kicked me out because of too many tries. I even
 tried the complete command again with same result. I thought that maybe I
 could enter the password with the selfupdate command, but it did not
 recognize this and simply did exactly what it did the first time.

 Please help. I really want to use GIMP, which is why I am doing this in
 the first place. It was recommended that I use macports to install GIMP
 because it would be easy, which it probably is IF I could get macports
 installed.
